Biography

Raoul Dufy (born on June 3 in 1877 –died on March 23 in 1953) was a French Fauvist painter, brother of Jean Dufy.

He typically painted leisure scenes, seascapes (often of the French Riviera), and domestic interiors, as in Artist’s Studio in Vence, a vibrant red scene recalling Matisse’s own rendition of the same subject.
